Flower Upcycling Progams

BloomAgainBklyn hosts weekly flower arranging sessions at Plymouth Church with 35-45 BloomAgainBklyn and New York Cares volunteers who produce over 1,000 arrangements a month for residents of senior health care centers, trauma and homeless survivors and other community organizations. We partner with New York Cares, New York City’s largest volunteer management organization which runs volunteer programs for 1,300 New York City nonprofits, city agencies and public schools across the five boroughs, to refurbish unsold and once-used flowers donated by Trader Joe's and local florists as well as from brides and corporate events 2-3 days a week. The activity takes place at historic Plymouth Church located in Brooklyn Heights which graciously donates space to the organization.

Our talented team of volunteers disassemble the donated flowers, give them a fresh cut and fresh water and sort them to create beautiful, original arrangements. Leftover blooms are then separated and taken to a nearby composting station. From here, a separate group of volunteers deliver the finished arrangements to residents at participating senior centers, residences for former domestic violence and homeless victims, and other at risk populations.  .

We regularly accommodate groups of 35-455 volunteers during our scheduled weekly shifts. Contact us for more information.
