Flower Upcycling Progams

BloomAgainBklyn hosts weekly flower upcycling programs at its Brooklyn locations at Christ Church Cobble Hill or Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights and the YWCA Brooklyn in Boerum Hill.  Approximately 40-60 BloomAgainBklyn and New York Cares volunteers come together each week to repurpose donated flowers at one of these locations and create over 1,200 arrangements a month for residents of senior health care centers, trauma and homeless survivors, food pantry recipients, and low and moderate income groups served by over 80 community partners.

Our talented team of volunteers disassemble the donated flowers, give them a fresh cut and fresh water and sort them to create beautiful, original arrangements. Leftover blooms and floral waste are then separated and composted. From here, a separate group of volunteers deliver the finished arrangements to residents at participating senior centers, residences for former domestic violence and homeless victims, food pantries and to community organizations serving low and moderate income populations.
