Q. Where do you get your flowers?

A. The flowers are donated by retailers like Trader Joe’s, florists, floral design firms, event planners, brides, corporations and large venues throughout the New York metropolitan area. 

 

Q. How long do your flower arrangements last?

A. On average, the flowers will last 5-7 days or longer with care and frequent water changes.

 

Q. How many arrangements do you deliver a week?

A. On average, we will upcycle and deliver between 350 to 400 arrangements a week.

 

Q. Who receives BloomAgainBklyn flowers?

A. Our repurposed flowers are distributed by our volunteers directly to local older adult centers, nursing homes, leading social service agencies, food pantries and over 80 community partners who serve LMI and vulnerable populations.  We are always open to serving new community partner and welcome any suggestions.

 

Q. Can one volunteer to work for BloomAgainBklyn?

A. Yes, anyone who wants to volunteer can sign-up on our website at http://www.bloomagainbklyn.org/get-involved.  We often oversubscribed due to a limited number of volunteer slots. We try to accommodate everyone who signs-up so please be patient. 

 

Q. Does BloomAgainBklyn work with other organizations, profit or non-profit, in providing its services for special events or causes?

A. Yes, we work with more than 80 nonprofit organizations and corporations in coordinating upcycled flowers and floral wellness workshops for the people they serve and for their staffs. These wellness workshops introduce the participants to how to cut and arrange flowers while learning about sustainability and giving back to the community.

Q. Does BloomAgainBklyn accept donated flowers from wedding or events?

A. Yes, we gladly accept wedding or event flowers which are repurposed for the at-risk populations we serve.  There is a cost involved which includes the expense for breaking down the flowers, pick-up and transportation.
